Privacy notice
Last updated 8 September 2026
Plain version first: we collect the contact details you type into a form, we show them to the other party when a bounty is claimed, and we never receive any footage. Everything below is the same thing said carefully.
What we collect
- What you type into a form. A name if you give one, an email address, a phone number, and the details of the incident: place, date, time window, what to look for, and the amount.
- Your approximate location, only if you allow it. Used in the browser to centre the map. It is not sent to us or stored.
- A hashed record of your network address when you post, kept for about a day, to stop one person flooding the board. It is hashed with a secret salt, so it cannot be turned back into an address.
We do not collect footage. Nothing is uploaded here, and clips pass directly between the two people involved.
Who sees it
- Nobody, until a bounty is claimed. Contact details are never shown on the map, in a listing, or in search results.
- The other party, when a claim happens. That is the entire point of the site: the driver gets the poster's details and the poster gets the driver's. Claiming or posting is consent to that exchange.
- Our suppliers, to the extent they must. Hosting and the database, transactional email, and address lookup. Addresses you type are sent to a geocoding service to turn them into coordinates.
- Anyone we are legally required to tell. If we ever receive a valid legal demand we will comply, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.
We do not sell your details and we do not run advertising on them.
How long we keep it
A bounty and its claims stay while the request is useful and then as long as we have a reason to keep them, such as a dispute between the parties. Rate-limiting records go after about a day. If you ask us to delete your details we will, unless we are required to keep something, and we will say so if that happens.
What you can ask for
A copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. Write to us and we will do it — there are no accounts here, so the email we hold for a listing is how we know it is yours. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under the GDPR, PIPEDA, or state law such as the CCPA; we will honour those requests regardless of where you are, because keeping two processes is more work than doing it once.
One address for all of it: contact@teslacambounty.com.
Cookies and tracking
No advertising or analytics cookies, and no accounts, so nothing identifies you between visits. Small preferences — miles or kilometres, whether you are showing demo listings — are stored in your browser and never sent to us. The embedded Street View panel is served by Google and is subject to their terms; it loads only on a bounty's own page.
Where this is honest about being early
This is a small, new site. It is not a law firm, an insurer, or an evidence custodian, and it has not been through a formal privacy audit. If that matters for your situation, treat the site as what it is: a way to reach a stranger who may have a video, and nothing more.
Questions about any of this go to contact@teslacambounty.com. See also the terms.
